An evening with Mishra uncle's family

Braja uncle, Papa's classmate from medical school had invited us all over to their place last evening. It was about an hour drive from Suju's place. We got stuck in traffic and were running late. But apparently uncle had returned from hospital himself a little earlier.

As always, I enjoyed spending time with them. Uncle and aunty are such warm and affectionate individuals that it is hard not to. My parents along with my sister and brother-in-law had already been to their place just a few days back. However since I wasn't there and uncle found out later that I was coming to the DC Metro area during the Navratri festivities, he and aunty arranged another get together just so that I can join them as well: I must say I am so touched. Aunty has to leave for their daughter's place today to see her granddaughter, Asha who is 3 months old now and such a cutie! Uncle is on call from today and had just come back from a busy day at work. But still they made sure that they have us over as soon as we reached DC.

Life is mysterious-sometimes people who you'd think as your friends are not around when you most need them and people who you least expect end up giving you so much joy out of the blue. One can make up all the excuses in the world about being busy, but when people like you, they will somehow take out time to be with you. I hope I meet more and more people from the later category and recognize the people from the first, the sooner the better.

Coming back to last evening, uncle showed me albums from different trips they have made over the years.  They are in the midst of making arrangements for their next trip to Jordan. I am passionate about travel and would love to visit different countries and experience different cultures. Unfortunately, due to visa and other constraints I haven't been able to travel much if at all. So I loved going through pictures from their different trips and hearing them talk about their adventures or experiences during some of those trips. I eventually had to give up going through the albums because there were just so many of them and I had to join everyone for dinner. :)

Garden Wedding in Cape Cod

I came back from Cape Cod on Sunday. We had gone to attend the wedding of Brian and Carolyn, in Harwich Port. The wedding was in a lavender farm which is owned by Carolyn's mother. It was quite pretty out there. On Friday, after the wedding rehearsal in the farm, we went for dinner at the Wayside Inn in Chatham, MA.

The wedding was on Saturday afternoon. The theme was lavender. The groomsmen wore lavender colored ties while the bridesmaids were dressed in brown. It was a very nice experience to be part of the wedding. As such, I love being in the midst of festivities and this was unique as in it was my first (actually second if I count Babu dada's wedding) western wedding not to mention the venue was unique too .

On Sunday we went to the Marconi beach and hanged out there for a while. Later, we went for lunch in a nearby Thai restaurant following which we played a 18-hole mini golf game and ended the day playing arcade games. All in all the weekend was well-spent!
