It's always a thrilling feeling when the flight touches down in Delhi. The airport went through a major renovation during the Commonwealth games and the transformation was evident as I walked out of it. I was received by Mamuni and Saurabh at IGI airport. I flew down to Kolkata the following day to get my visa stamped. I was received by my parents at the airport.
I wasn't really following the WCC '11 until I reached India. But by the time, we reached Bhubaneswar, the world cup fever had caught up with me too. Papa was watching the semi-finals with Pakistan, always an eventful match. It was a spectacle not to be missed and I am glad I didn't. The WCC finals was an epic win for India and it was a wonderful experience watching Gautam and Dhoni turn the fate of the match.
Because the finals was on 2nd of April, the family get-together was decided on the following day. As usual, food was the highlight. :) I enjoyed catching up with my family. Was so good to see them all. I also missed everyone who were not present. Lily apa and bhai came to visit me the following week. We all went to Sai temple together in the evening. A few days later we went to Puri with Rupali didi and her family. We stopped by on our way to Puri and had coconut water from a local farmer. The next day was spent on the beach. We went into the sea and had a great time there.
On my way back, I spent the whole day with Mamuni and her daughter, Pucchee. We went to the Oh! Calcutta restaurant at Nehru Place and had lunch there. I was very impressed with the food as well as the ambiance. Later we went to the Lotus temple nearby and enjoyed the quietness. As the day ended, it was time to leave. Looking forward to many more trips like this.
